Church Roofing
QRS provides church roofing across Los Angeles and Orange County, repairing and replacing the tile, shingle and low-slope roofs over sanctuaries, fellowship halls and classrooms. We plan the work around services, weddings and events, and every project starts with a roof survey and findings your board can review.
Overview
Many churches in Los Angeles and Orange County pair a steep sanctuary roof, often clay tile or shingles, with low-slope roofs over fellowship or parish halls, offices and classrooms. Each section ages in its own way. Tiles can crack or shift in an earthquake while the underlayment beneath them slowly dries out, and the low-slope areas depend on clear drains and sound flashing. We care for all of it, from tile roofing on the sanctuary to flat roofing over the hall.
Decisions about a church roof rarely rest with one person. A board, a building committee or a group of trustees usually weighs in, so our roof survey comes with photos and plain-English findings anyone can follow, plus a clear next step for each section. Once the work is approved, we plan it around worship services, weddings, memorials and weekday programs, and we keep walkways and parking areas clean for your members and visitors.
Our Process
How a church roofing project works
Survey of every roof section
A roofer surveys the sanctuary, halls and classrooms and photo-documents the condition of each section.
- Cracked, slipped or missing tiles
- Valleys, flashings and underlayment
- Drains on low-slope roofs
A scope your board can review
Your board gets a written scope and price organized by roof section, so priorities are clear and the work can be phased if needed.
- Priorities by roof section
- Services and events to work around
- Options to phase the work
Work planned around your calendar
We schedule around the services and events on your calendar and keep entrances and walkways clear while we work.
Closeout walkthrough
We review the finished roof with your facilities lead or committee, share photos of the work and go over your 10-year workmanship warranty.
Seasonal care for every section
Regular checks catch slipped tiles and clogged drains early, and the photo record helps future boards plan ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about church roofing.
Can the roof work be scheduled around our worship services?
Yes. We plan work days around your service times and the events on your calendar, and we let you know in advance which days will be noisy or need areas kept clear.
Our sanctuary has an old clay tile roof. Does it need replacing?
Not necessarily. Clay tile can last a very long time; it’s usually the underlayment beneath it that wears out first. If most tiles are sound, a tile lift & relay replaces that layer and resets your existing tiles, keeping the sanctuary’s look.
How do we decide what to fix first on a limited budget?
We rank what we find by urgency: active leaks and failing flashings first, then worn areas you can plan for. Your written scope can list each item separately, so your board can phase the work over time.
Do you roof fellowship halls and classroom buildings too?
Yes. Halls, offices and classrooms on a church campus often have low-slope roofs, and we can survey and roof them alongside the sanctuary. One scope can cover the whole campus or a single building.
Can an earthquake damage a church tile roof?
It can. Shaking can crack tiles or knock them out of place, and the damage isn’t always visible from the ground. After a noticeable quake, a roof survey shows with photos whether anything moved.
