Shingle Roof Replacement · TotalShield®
A full tear-off and a complete new shingle system, from the deck and underlayment up to the ridge caps, with a written scope and price first.
Shingle roofing from QRS covers replacement, new installs, repairs, inspections, tune-ups and ongoing roof care for homes across Los Angeles and Orange County. We give the underlayment, flashings and attic ventilation the same care as the shingles, and our complete replacement and new-install package is the TotalShield® Shingle System. Each one starts with a free roof evaluation.
You’ll find asphalt shingles, often called composition shingles, on homes all over Los Angeles and Orange County. Our climate is hard on them. Strong sun bakes the asphalt and loosens the granules that protect it, dry Santa Ana winds pry at tabs that have lost their seal, and winter storms find any tired flashing. A shingle roof holds up when it’s built as a complete system: drip edge and starter strips at the eaves, underlayment across the deck, careful flashing at every wall and chimney, and balanced attic ventilation so heat doesn’t cook the shingles from below.
As a licensed California contractor since 2020, QRS installs premium shingle systems to the manufacturer’s requirements, with proper ventilation, clean lines and tidy detailing at every edge and penetration. Whether your roof needs a shingle roof replacement, a targeted repair or a simple tune-up, it starts the same way: a roofer-led free roof evaluation. You see photos of what we found, hear what it means in plain English and get a clear next step. There’s no deposit to book it, and you pay after the visit.
From one wind-lifted tab to a complete tear-off, choose the service that fits where your shingle roof is today.

Architectural shingles add depth and shadow lines, and they come in a wide range of colors that suit Craftsman, ranch and traditional homes alike.
Shingles weigh far less than clay or concrete tile, so they suit many roofs that were never framed to carry tile.
Asphalt shingles are commonly fire-rated, which matters for homes near hillsides and brush, where wildfire embers can travel.
Straight answers about shingle roofing.
A 3-tab shingle is a single flat layer cut into three tabs, which gives the roof a uniform look. Architectural shingles are laminated from more than one layer, so they’re thicker, show more depth and generally handle wind better. They’re the usual choice for new shingle roofs today.
It comes down to your home’s framing, style and budget. Tile has its own distinct look and is much heavier, while shingles are lighter and usually cost less to install. You can compare the two on our tile roofing page, and we’re glad to talk through the tradeoffs for your home.
No. Shingles rely on the roof’s pitch to shed water, so flat and very low-slope areas need a different system. Plenty of homes here pair a shingled main roof with a low-slope section over a porch or addition, and our flat roofing page covers those.
There’s no single answer. Shingle quality, installation, attic ventilation and sun exposure all play a part, and a sunny slope in the inland valleys usually ages faster than a shaded one near the coast. Rather than guessing from the roof’s age, a free roof evaluation looks at its actual condition.
We work across Los Angeles County and Orange County, from Santa Monica, Pasadena and Long Beach to Anaheim, Irvine and Newport Beach. Visit our service area page to find your city.
